having its roots in the 80, Dancehall culture has developed many different genres and styles of dancing but the general idea has stayed the same.
Dancing together specific moves, while bringing in your own flow and style!
Dance hall is not only about the dance, it’s also about attitude, sharing the culture and the joy of living!
In this session of FreeSkilling, Ara will introduce you to the Jamaican dance culture, and show you some old-school and new-school moves that you can easily learn!
And the most important thing is of course…Having fun!

In Europa waechst die Begeisterung um jamaikanische Reggae und Dancehall Musik staerker denn je. Seit ihrer Entstehung in den 80ern, hat sich die Dancehallkultur in viele unterschiedliche Genres und Tanzstile entwickelt. Die eigentliche Idee ist jedoch stets die selbe geblieben: das gemeinsame Tanzen von bestimmten Moves, wobei du stets deinen individuellen Stil und Flow mit einbauen kannst. Dancehall ist nicht nur Tanz alleine, sondern auch Attitude und das Teilen von Kultur und Lebensfreude.
In dieser Freeskilling Session wird dir Ara einen Einblick in die jamaikanische Tanzkultur geben und dir einige Schritte aus der alten und neuen Schule aus Kingston zeigen, die du schnell lernen und mittanzen kannst. Das wichtigste dabei ist stets Spass zu haben!
