Live in Concert: Elektro Hafiz
Der in Istanbul geborene und aufgewachsene Musiker Elektro Hafiz lebt mitlerweile seit geraumer Zeit in Köln. Er kann bereits auf eine 20-Jährige Karriere als professioneller Musiker zurückblicken. Mit seiner Band „Fairuz Derin Bulut“ hat er drei Alben veröffentlicht, die als Meilenstein in der anatolischen psychedelischen Rockmusik gelten. Nun ist sein erstes Soloalbum erschienen – sein Sound: Psychedelisch, anarchisch, anatolische arabesk.
Elektro Hafiz‘ Kompositionen sind beeinflusst von seinen anatolischen Wurzeln, das Instrument seiner Wahl, die elektrische Saz, begleitet dabei fast all seine Stücke. Sein experimenteller Ansatz ist zu seinem Markenzeichen geworden und sein charmant provokanter Stil wird von einer gesunden Portion Humor begleitet.
Elektro Hafiz hat 2016 auf dem spanischen Label Guerssen Records ein Vinyl-Album veröffentlicht.Zusätzlich dazu erschien auf dem selben Label ein weiteres Album mit Remixes und Edits seiner Stücke, die von internationalen Produzenten erstellt wurden.
Innerhalb von kürzester Zeit verdichtete sich so die Agenda: Elektro Hafiz befindet sich mitlerweile in den vorderen Reihen von Newcomerlisten der europäischen Worldmusic Charts und tourt die ganze Republik.

He can look back on 20 years as a professional musician. With his former band ‘Fairuz Derin Bulut’ he created and released three albums, which represent a milestone in the Anatolian psychedelic rock music. Elektro Hafiz has shown and proven openness to various and sometimes contradicting music by mixing eastern instruments like the electric saz, darbuka and finger cymbals with different genres.
He loves to play with opposites and through that creating new compositions. This open and experimental approach is still his trademark, as well as his charming provocative style that is complemented by a healthy dose of humour. His diverse compositions are heavily influenced by his Anatolian roots, which are reflected in his instrument of choice the electric saz in most of his pieces.
A further ingenious characteristic of his is using the electric guitar as a rock instrument while at the same time applying the Anatolian harmony system (scale).
